It's hard to make a movie that works well for everyone. Modems (56 K) can't handle the high data rates required for high quality playback (between 8 MB and 13 MB, depending on the video), while people with faster connections (ISDN, T1, Cable Modem, xDSL) expect to see better movies.
The video streaming also depends on your system requirements. The more MHz (even better, GHz) and the more RAM your system is provided with the faster the video streaming will be.
Example: a Pentium 4 with 2 GHz and 256 MB RAM for Windows XP works perfect for a streaming video without any download time. Note: the lower your system requirements are the longer it takes to download the complete video.

SUSAN COWSILL
SUSAN COWSILL played four shows in Europe in fall 2004, her first visit after the departure from the Continental Drifters in 2001. The band featured Chris Knotts on guitar, Russ Broussard on drums, and Rob Savoy on bass.
For the first time ever the videos on this page, shooted at Susan's performance in "Blue Rose Capitol" Heilbronn, Germany on September 30, 2004 are available in great visual and sound quality for a free download (right klick and "save target as...")!

CHRIS KNIGHT
CHRIS KNIGHT from Nashville, Tennessee was touring Germany with a band in April 2004. From the show at the "Sinkkasten" in Frankfurt we have a video of the title track from his latest album, The Jealous Kind.
RICH HOPKINS & LUMINARIOS
The 2003 European winter tour with the refeshed line-up (Anna Rosales, bass/vocals), Adrian Espaza, guitar, vocals and Jim Howell, drums) was doing great. Very good crowds and fantastic shows all over Germany.
The show in Tuebingen was taped for a DVD release in summer. One song, "Common Man", is available right here. Enjoy!
RESENTMENTS
For the first time ever South Austin's best live act, The Resentments, had been on tour outside of the USA. In September and October 2003 they played shows in Germany and the Netherlands. The band (featuring Stephen Bruton, Jon Dee Graham, "Scrappy" Jud Newcomb, Bruce Hughes, and John Chipman) had a blast - packed clubs, amazing shows and happy people all around. We filmed the 2 1/2 hour show in Heilbronn, Germany on September 25th. We start with the Fat Domino song "Ready", more videos from that show will appear here very soon.
VIC CHESNUTT
Vic Chesnutt returned to Europe in September 2003 to promote his new album Silver Lake, the second time in 2003, following a one week tour in June. He also played one show in Germany at the "Orange Blossom Special Festival" of Glitterhouse Records in Beverungen on June 7th. We videotaped one song from the new album called "Wren's Nest".
PLAINSONG
In Spring 2003 PLAINSONG did a successful tour through the UK and Germany. Iain Matthews, Andy Roberts, Julian Dawson and Mark Griffiths played amazing shows covering songs from all the albums this line-up had recorded since 1992, plus a few songs from the band's debut album back in 1972, In Search of Amelia Earhart. In Tuebingen, Germany we not only videotaped some songs - "Needle In The Hay", "All New People", "Barbed Wire Fence", "Changing Of The Guard" (all songs from the new album Pangolins, "Sweet Amelia (Cloud 9)" from Dark Side Of The Room and "Yo Yo Man" and "Even The Guiding Light" from the classic debut In Search Of Amelia Earhart.

STEVE WYNN & THE MIRACLE 3
We videotaped some songs from one of the first German shows of the 2003 Spring tour in Neustadt/Weinstraße on March 26, and all the music fans have been witnesses of a great ROCK show, from the very first song until the last encore. The majority of the songs are from the albums Here Come the Miracles (Blackout) and Static Transmission (Candy Machine, Hollywood, The Ambassador Of Soul, Maybe Tomorrow, California Style or What Comes After), but they also do classics like "Medicine Show", "The Days Of Wine And Roses", "Carolyn" or "John Coltrane Stereo Blues". One of the highlights: an 8-minute eruption called Amphetamine from the new album, a speed song about the highways of L.A.
RETO BURRELL
In December 2002 Swiss RETO BURRELL and his band did their first headliner tour through Germany. They had ups and downs, had to fight against the ignorance of people in bigger cities and were happy to play in front of 200 people in smaller places. But no matter if it was a decent crowd or just a few people - the band played with a lot of fun and enjoyed the shows and the tour.
A good example was the show at the "Sinkkasten" in Frankfurt. Although less than 40 people showed up, Reto and his band played like the club was packed. And the people witnessed a great Rock'n'Roll show. We taped 7 (!) songs from that show: "I Need You", "Steve McQueen", "Take It Or Leave It", "It Doesn't Mean A Thing", "Happy Now", "I Want You To Want Me", "Take Me Away". Enjoy!
STEVE WYNN, CHRIS CACAVAS & JASON VICTOR
Five weeks before the new STEVE WYNN album Static Transmission is released, the ex-Dream Syndicate frontman is going to promote the new record with a very special duo tour, accompanied by the Miracle 3 guitarist JASON VICTOR. The second show of the tour took place in a 300 people village called Lampenhain, not too far away from much a better known city named Heidelberg.
CHRIS CACAVAS opened the long night with a 60 minute solo performance, before Steve Wynn, later with Jason Victor, continued with songs of his previous albums. The third set saw the trio playing some of the new songs like "California Style", "What Comes After", "One Less Shining Star", "Maybe Tomorrow", "Hollywood" or "If It Was Easy Everybody Would Do it", a hidden track from Static Transmission.
STEVE WYNN & CHRIS CACAVAS
The Blue Rose Christmas Party 2002 at the Buergerhaus in Heilbronn on December 15 was a blast. Sold out venue, great line-up (CHRIS CACAVAS, STEVE WYNN and RETO BURRELL), happy people - what else do you need for a night of fun?
STEVE WYNN's set was one of the highlights which became even more amazing when he was joined by longtime collaborateur CHRIS CACAVAS on keyboards and backing vocals. Steve played a few songs from his new album Static Transmission ("What Comes After", ""One Less Shining Star", "California Style" and "If It Was Easy Everybody Would Do It" among others. He also played classics like "The Days Of Wine And Roses", "Merrittville", the Gutterball song "Trial Separation Blues" and "Southern California Line" from his masterpiece Here Come The Miracles.
ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO
For the first time in ten years (or even more) the "Artist of the Decade" (named by No Depression magazine) ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO was touring Germany with a five piece backing band in December 2002. At the final show in Frankfurt they were joined for the encores by STEVE WYNN, and the seven (!) musicians played a brutal punk set of covers only after kicking off with a great version of Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door": Velvet Underground's "Waiting For My Man", the Ramones' "I Wanna Be Your Boy Friend", and the Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog". They finished the show with Mott the Hoople's "All The Young Dudes".
TAKE ROOT FESTIVAL 2002
RETO BURRELL / SLOBBERBONE
Take Root Festival in Assen, the Netherlands became one of the most important and best music festivals in Europe. This year great artists like Fred Eaglesmith, Marah, or Tony Joe White had been on the bill, among three Blue Rose artists: HARDPAN, SLOBBERBONE AND RETO BURRELL. Reto played a fantastic 60 minute "stadium rock show", and we videotaped two of the 15 songs he had performed: "Super Rockstar" and the Cheap Trick classic "I Want You To Want Me".
Slobberbone closed the festival with a powerful show, playing favorites like "Gimme Back My Dog" or "Barrel Chested" as well as songs from their brand new album Slippage like "Butchers" and "Sister Beams".
JASON RINGENBERG
Jason & the Scorchers frontman JASON RINGENERG is touring Europe in October 2002. We have captured three songs at a real "unplugged" gig at Frankfurt's "Sinkkasten" on October 22 since he had problems with the plug-in of his guitar: "I've Just Seen A Face", "Self-Sabotage", and "Rainbow Stew".
HARDPAN
Todd Thibaud, Terry Lee Hale, Joseph Parsons and Chris Burroughs - now known as HARDPAN - are touring Europe in September/October 2002. It's the first time the four musicians are on the road as a band and the shows are turning out fabulous. We filmed four songs from the show at the "Parterre" café in Tuebingen, Germany on September 27:

SAY ZUZU
The four piece from Durham, New Hampshire is doing their second tour through European countries. Following Italy and the Netherlands, they play 11 shows in Germany. The show at the Buergerhaus in Heilbronn on September 20 was a blast. We filmed several songs from that show - three of them are presented here:

RETO BURRELL
The new album Shaking Off Monkeys is getting rave reviews, and Reto made a videoclip of Baby Blue which - in a better TV and radio world - would definitively be a smash hit for the Swiss sunnyboy.

JULIAN DAWSON
We know less musicians with the ability to entertain their audience for 2 1/2 hours with just a guitar and a voice. One of them is Julian Dawson - not is he only a great entertainer but also an amazing storyteller. We filmed four songs of his show at the "Parterre" café in Tuebingen, Germany on July 17, 2002 (thanks to Fritz Weidner for the soundboard tape): Uneasy Rider, Welcome To London Town, You're Listening Now, and Hillbilly Zen.
THE HEART OF THE GEORGIA SATELLITES
Though DAN BAIRD is not a Blue Rose artist we took the advantage and organized a show with him and his friends, former GS drummer Mauro Magellan, Yayhoos bass player Keith Christopher und Ken McMahan on guitar. They played the Buergerhaus in Heilbronn on July 18 and had a lot of fun (as we had too, of course!). 2 1/2 hours of rock'n'roll, boogie, rock, GS barn-burners like "Keep Your Hands to Yourself", songs from Dan's solo albums like Younger Face, covers like "Daydream Believer", "Get Off Of My Cloud", Helpless or the Little Richard classic Keep A Knockin'. It was a blast!
RICH HOPKINS & LUMINARIOS
In June 2002 Rich Hopkins, Mike Davis, Ken Andree and Ernesto Mendoza jumped over the big pond again to do a 10 day tour in Germany, the shortest stay since the band's first visit under the Blue Rose flag in 1997. Among other great shows like Hamburg they played a big festival in Heilbronn before they finished the tour in Frankfurt.
We filmed four songs at the "Gaffenberg Festival" and three more at the "Sinkkasten". And it looks like that one of these shows will be released as the next issue of the "Blue Rose Bootleg Series" - including the videos! More about that very soon...

In 1996 Elliott Murphy was touring Germany with a full band to promote his first album for Blue Rose, Selling The Gold. All the other tours he did as a duo with long-time collaborateur Olivier Durand.
To promote his new album Soul Surfing, the duo was added by Danny Montgomery on the drums who brought fresh air, more drive and power on stage.
We captured five songs at the "Sinkkasten" in Frankfurt on June 9, 2002 (thanks to Gerhard for the soundboard tape!):

CHUCK PROPHET
CHUCK PROPHET & the Mission Express was videotaped live at the "Sinkkasten" in Frankfurt, Germany on June 3 with I Bow Down And Pray To Every Woman I See and After The Rain, two songs from the new album No Other Love, and Rise, taken from The Hurting Business.
On May 29 the band played at Dutch VPRO Radio. The song Run, Primo Run, is also available on video.
YAYHOOS
Judas Kiss - an old Del-Lords song of Scott Kempner and sung by Eric "Roscoe" Ambel - was a crowd pleaser at the shows of the band's first European tour. It was captured at the "Musikwerkstatt" in Neustadt/Weinstraße, Germany on May 16, 2002.
JON DEE GRAHAM
Also filmed at the "Musikwerkstatt" in Neustadt (a great venue, by the way!) - Jon Dee Graham, Michael Hartwick, George Reiff and Raphael Gayol with an amazing set on their first German tour. Three videos - $100 Bill was taken from Jon Dee's debut album Escape From Monster Island, One Moment from his new album Hooray For The Moon, and Lonesome Valley which became popular as a track from the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou.
